The verse in its languages

Vulgate (Clementine)
Hebrew (WLC)
The Hebrew Daniel has no such verse: the prayer of Azarias and the song of the three children are in the Greek alone.

Haydock's commentary

Furnace. These might be other victims, (Haydock) or he recapitulates what had been said ver. 22, (Calmet) which is by no means unusual, though Cappel. would hence reject the piece. (Houbigant.)
