The verse in its languages

Vulgate (Clementine)
Dum dicitur : Hodie si vocem ejus audieritis, nolite obdurare corda vestra, quemadmodum in illa exacerbatione.

Haydock's commentary

From the 6th and 14th verses we learn the great happiness conferred on us at baptism; but all this, happily, we are taught is dependent on faith, on the foundation of our spiritual and divine being.

From Haydock's Catholic Bible Commentary, 1859, in the transcription made by Todd Easton and kept online by John Paul Wohlschied at johnblood.gitlab.io/haydock.

The Fathers on this verse

St John Chrysostom The Homilies of St. John Chrysostom on the Epistle to the Hebrews, Hebrews 3.7-11

[5.] Then he adds ( ver. 15 ), “When it is said, To-day if ye hear His voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.” This is a transposition, “when it is said, To-day if ye hear His voice, harden not your hearts.” [It must be read thus:]

St Cyril of Jerusalem On the Mysteries. V: On the Sacred Liturgy and Communion

15. Give us this day our substantial bread . This common bread is not substantial bread, but this Holy Bread is substantial, that is, appointed for the substance of the soul. For this Bread goeth not into the belly and is cast out into the draught , but is distributed into thy whole system for the benefit of body and soul. But by this day , he means, “each day,” as also Paul said, While it is called to-day .
