Jeremias 44:26

Therefore hear ye the word of the Lord, all Juda, you that dwell in the land of Egypt: Behold I have sworn by my great name, saith the Lord: that my name shall no more be named in the mouth of any man of Juda, in the land of Egypt, saying: The Lord God liveth.

Ideo audite verbum Domini, omnis Juda qui habitatis in terra Ægypti : Ecce ego juravi in nomine meo magno, ait Dominus, quia nequaquam ultra vocabitur nomen meum ex ore omnis viri Judæi, dicentis : Vivit Dominus Deus, in omni terra Ægypti.

Haydock's commentary

Liveth. They swore by his name as well as by that of idols. God could not abide such company. (Calmet)

Not one of these obstinate Jews shall be spared, ver. 14. Others, like Jeremias, the Septuagint [translators], and the holy family[Jesus Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph], no doubt called upon the Lord in the land of Egypt. (Haydock)

Where a note speaks of the Jewish people, the Church teaches that the Passion cannot be charged against all the Jews then living, nor against the Jews of today, and that all sinners were its authors (CCC 597, 598).
