Ecclesiasticus 35:19

For from the cheek they go up even to heaven, and the Lord that heareth will not be delighted with them.

The verse in its languages

Vulgate (Clementine)
A maxilla enim ascendunt usque ad cælum, et Dominus exauditor non delectabitur in illis.
Septuagint (Swete)
The Greek has no line about the tears going up from the cheek to heaven. This is a Latin addition; the Greek moves straight on to 'he that serves with goodwill' (Douay 35:20).

Haydock's commentary

For, &c., is not in Greek. God will protect the defenceless. (Haydock)
