Haydock's commentary

Cake, made very thin, with a mixture of oil.

Beef, sufficient for a meal.

Oil. This was much esteemed in those days. Many would translate the Hebrew, "a bottle of wine."

From Haydock's Catholic Bible Commentary, 1859, in the transcription made by Todd Easton and kept online by John Paul Wohlschied at johnblood.gitlab.io/haydock.
